What Are My Chances Of Becoming A Successful Runway Model If I Don’t Meet The Height Requirements?

GIRLS: If you’re 5’8”, there’s a very slim chance that you can do runway. It does happen sometimes if you walk like a Diva. It all depends on your character, your passion, and your drive – and how self-assured you are. It also depends if a top runway agent believes in you and pushes you to the designers. If you get that opportunity, it’s your job to make the designers believe in you. Then the word gets out and people start requesting you. Lately, I’ve seen world-class supermodels that are 5’8” or 5’9” that walk just as good as a 5’10” girl, so don’t give up hope of becoming a successful runway model – if you really want to make it, you can.

GUYS: Even though the height requirement for guys is 6’0”-6’2”, sometimes taller guys (6’3”) can squeeze by. I’ve seen 5’10” guys like Anthony Gallo take full control of the runway for top designers. It’s the confidence that you have within yourself that counts. Being fit, having “six-pack” abs, muscle toned legs, and a chiseled face may get you in the door. Beyond that, you have to walk very strong and confident with the attitude as if you own the runway.
